Unravelling Winter’s Grasp: His Frozen Majesty

Welcome to the Midnight Carnival

With the official release of Goreshade, Lord of Ruin (hereafter referred to as Goreshade3).  I’m going to start off by mentioning something that I feel is relevant given all of the talk about him as of late:

Goreshade, Lord of Ruin is not Sorscha1.  Every time someone compares Goreshade3 to Sorscha1, Toruk kills another Iosan baby.

There it is…I said it.  With that being said, we can’t properly analyze him by looking at a caster from another faction, as Khador has very different tools to work with than what we have as Cryx.  So rather than looking at him with the context of what another faction can do with a caster who has blatantly stronger tools but is a different caster altogether, we have to look at what he can do by himself within Cryx.  Comparing Goreshade3 to Sorscha1 is like comparing apples to a jet engine, if…

Vayl1 vs. Severius1 50pts Destruction

Focus on the Fury

So I went over to Dave’s the other night for a game. I was ready to try out my usual to casters of eLylyth and epic Thagrosh with the usual format of death clock. Dave decided that he wanted it to try out something for a tournament he was getting ready for and wanted me to try pVayl and timed turns.

I have not played timed turns in a very long time and although pVayl is one of the casters that I want to try out I haven’t actually tried her yet, but I was willing to give it a shot. Okay all of my early caveat excuses are out of the way.

Oh yeah, also, welcome to the first episode of Monday Morning Warcaster (yeah, I know it’s Tuesday. I also know she’s a warlock.) The list I brought was JVM’s WTC pVayl list:

Vayl, Disciple of Everblight
– Ravagore
– Typhon
–…

Some changes on the horizon

Focus on the Fury

So there are going to be some changes to this hobby blog coming up in the near future. I am wanting to be a bit more serious in my gaming and get a bit better at the game. So I will be bringing back my Thoughts On… series and focusing on Legion of Everblight, going through each option available to me starting with the choices in my lists and them moving on. Also when SR2015 rules drop I will be covering them very early in the Thoughts On… series. Listening to Jeremy blather on in the Crippled System Legionsode helped me realize the value of doing this sober 😉

Look for these to be posted on Thursdays. Also, when I get in games, look for the batreps to be posted on Mondays. I am going to try and keep to the schedule of posting on those days. Also, I am…
